PRODUCTION SPECIALIST

OVERVIEW

 As part of a diverse team of aviation focused specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support assembling, testing, and packing of manufactured and assembled products. Our Production Specialist will be detail-oriented professional who is driven and offers innovative solutions to dynamic problems; works well independently, with minimal supervision and works well as a team member. This role provides an opportunity for hands-on hardware experience across R4’s entire product base and requires a solid understanding of related subject areas: avionics, electrical systems, structures, mechanical systems, and various mission equipment systems.  



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Review and understand engineering drawings to support assembly and testing of products.
  • Perform kitting of parts as required for assembly
  • Perform electromechanical fabrication to include harness builds and wiring of electronic assemblies. This includes all types of harnesses RF, Multi conductor, Ethernet, Video, and Power
  • Perform mechanical fabrication to include assembly of R4 hatches, base kits, and various other mechanical assemblies
  • Preform assembly, troubleshooting, testing, soldering, and repairs of various components
  • Support ground and flight testing of R4 products both in shop and in the field
  • Test and inspect in-process and completed products
  • Expected that the work area and anywhere of interaction is clean, organized, free from garbage, and most of all to follow the implemented safety standards
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
  • Other incidental tasks related to the production and testing functions may be assigned



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Satisfy one of the following (either A or B):  A. 10+ years work aviation production or equivalent experience in avionics (cabling, wiring, etc.) or B. Bachelor’s degree in Aviation related Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Familiar with test equipment such as, oscilloscope, multimeter, calipers, micrometers.
  • Familiar with use of hand and power tools, and specialized electrical harness manufacturing tools
  • Experience and training in AS9100 and ISO 9000 QMS and writing accompanying procedures
  • Proficiency with personal computers and networking
  • Ability to analyze Manufacturing Drawings and Bills of Material and to understand key material and logistical requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability
  • Organized self-starter, capable of breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks 
  • Potential travel to CONUS (Continental US) and OCONUS (Outside Continental US) locations (Alaska, Hawaii, UK and EUROPE)

satcom engineer

OVERVIEW

As part of a diverse team of aviation focused specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the overall SATCOM solution to meet customer requirements. Our Satellite Communications Systems Engineers design, integrate, implement, manage, and support advanced satellite communication systems across multi-orbit (GEO, MEO, and LEO) constellations. Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with multiple antennas, modems, routers, and switches, as well as other SATCOM associated equipment. Requires expertise in both mechanically steered and electronically steered arrays (ESA), and experience in Communications on the Move (COTM) applications, including aero and ground mobile installations. The candidate must also have experience in multi-band operations, and should be skilled in managing both ground and inflight architectures to ensure seamless communication on the move and efficient data transmission across diverse satellite networks, independently resolving complex networks, and Beyond-Line-Of-Site (BLOS) connectivity issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and configure network topologies for reliable data transmission over satellite links
  • Configure routers, switches, and install updates to modems and antenna terminals
  • Implement network updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to maintain system functionality
  • Design and optimize satellite communication links across GEO, MEO, and LEO constellations
  • Configure, integrate, and troubleshoot satellite modems (iDirect, Comtech, Hughes, GMODMAN, etc.) for various network applications
  • Work with mechanically steered and electronically steered antennas for mobile, airborne, and fixed applications
  • Perform link budget analysis, waveform optimization, and system integration for hybrid satellite networks
  • Support ground station and terminal integration for multi-orbit operations
  • Conduct performance testing and troubleshoot RF, IP, and modem-related network issues in satellite environments
  • Lead aero and ground mobile satellite communication system installations and integrations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards for airborne and mobile satellite systems
  • Work with multi-band satellite communications, including X-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band, to support diverse operational needs
  • Collaborate with network engineers, RF engineers, and vendors to deploy highly resilient COTM solutions
  • Engage with partner companies for integration efforts, ensuring seamless interoperability of satellite communication systems
  • Interact with customers to understand requirements, provide technical support, and contribute to solutions that meet operational needs
  • Maintain strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal teams, external partners, and customers
  • Lead teams in planning and execution of customer demonstrations, ensuring successful setup, testing, and real-time performance validation of satellite communication systems
  • Also able to work independently in the field
  • Install and configure land and airborne satellite communication equipment, to include antennas, modems, switches, routers, and control systems
  • Integrate BLOS communication equipment with existing networks to provide seamless connectivity
  • Integration of video, data, and VOIP through network protocols
  • Plan Test Designs and write Test Reports 
  • Stay updated on emerging satellite communication technologies, including flat panel phased arrays and multi-orbit connectivity

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfy one of the following (either A or B):  A. 7+ years military experience, trained in satellite communications or B. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering - Telecommunications or a related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience in modem configuration, troubleshooting, and installation
  • Strong knowledge of GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite architectures and network operations
  • Proficiency in mechanically and electronically steered antennas for COTM and fixed-site applications
  • Experience in aero and ground mobile satellite communication installations
  • Understanding of RF engineering principles, waveform analysis, and link budget calculations
  • Familiarity with networking, IP routing, and satellite ground infrastructure is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with partner companies and customers for integration efforts and technical discussions
  • Experience leading teams in planning and executing customer demonstrations, ensuring system readiness and performance validation
  • Ability to travel as needed for installations, ground and flight system testing
  • Experienced with Test Design and Test Reports
  • Must be able to work outside and on top of aircraft

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II/III

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Evaluation of existing electrical systems, components, and applications through testing and implementation
  • Issue diagnosis, root cause analysis and repair
  • Identifying functional gaps in existing systems and determining solutions
  • Feasibility studies for new technical requirements/projects
  • Design, build and test of electrical components and systems
  • Design electrical diagrams, block diagrams, interface control documents
  • Design conceptual wiring diagrams, and release detailed wiring diagrams
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) segregation routes as a function of the signal type
  • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) protection implementation
  • Electrical integration
  • Wires/cables selection to satisfy signal type, current, voltage, EMC and EMI aircraft requirements
  • Support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total harness air vehicle design
  • Harness modeling of product to include: Harness 3-D modeling and space claims, overall air vehicle routing and integration concept, wire harness drawings and schematic creation, and associated documentation of cable harnesses
  • Participate in the concurrent engineering phase for harness installation, if necessary supporting aircraft integration and testing on-site


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • 6+ years of experience in design of electrical systems for aviation
  • AS50881 (Wiring Aerospace Vehicle)
  • Experience with first article testing of newly designed components
  • Experience creating/modifying code for testing/debugging new systems
  • Proficient with operation of electronic instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and spectrum analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software
  • pHave a valid, US passport, or ability to obtain a US assport
  • Able to obtain/receive and maintain a security clearance


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Experience with embedded systems design and testing experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting individual components and full system integrations

system administrator

OVERVIEW

As part of a diverse team of aviation focused specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the overall System Administration needs for the company. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Infrastructure, Server, and Network Management: Overseeing servers, networks, hardware, firewalls, and operating systems which may include working with third parties to ensure compliance with policy. Implement network updates, patches, and firmware upgrades to maintain system functionality
  • Enterprise Administrator for such platforms as Microsoft 365 or Azure. Managing enterprise-wide settings, security, user accounts, and system updates across an entire organization
  • Cybersecurity: Implementing security practices, managing risk, and ensuring data privacy and compliance. Maintain company compliance with CMMC Level 2
  • Operating Systems and Hardware: Having a strong familiarity with various operating systems and proficiency in managing hardware and end-user devices
  • Group Policy: ability to provide management of user and computer settings in an Active Directory environment; enforce configurations, apply security settings like firewalls, and deploy software as applicable
  • Technical Support: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve problems with programs and systems

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfy one of the following (either A or B):  A. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or related field or B. 7+ years of System Administrator level experience
  • Wide range of hardware familiarity with computers, printers, scanners, servers, and other company IT equipment 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with employees, partners, and external IT vendors to diagnose issues and implement corrective solutions
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
