R4 successfully tested their patented Multi-Purpose Shoulder Panel System (MPSPS) using a newly designed Satellite Communication (SATCOM) antenna that contains Electronically Steered Arrays (ESA). The testing verified the system and gathered operational SATCOM data. This integration system is not a permanent modification of the aircraft and is totally reversible. This C-130 SATCOM Integration enables the aircraft to communicate with numerous parties utilizing full duplex transmissions and the functionality of the SATCOM communications system. The modification consists of removing the existing aircraft shoulder panels and replacing them with the R4 MPSPS that contains transmit/receive antennas for the new SATCOM system. The only interface with aircraft systems is a power source.
